Dear Friends of the Arts:
The West Boylston Parks Facilities Committee is seeking residents' input and state bond funds to develop and build a comprehensive Master Plan for Goodale Park.  The plan will include improvements to existing facilities and infrastructure, as well as new amenities. Some of the improvements that the Committee hopes to see made to Goodale Park include renovations to the high school track and sporting fields, a pool or water spray park, inter-connected walking trails, adequate parking, new concessions and restrooms. This is an opportunity to refurbish our town's most highly used, centerpiece park as a recreational gem for the whole community that will last generations.
The West Boylston Arts Foundation has enjoyed reviving use of the stage at Goodale Park for the town's Bicentennial Arts Festival in 2008 and ART ROCK! Summer Concerts, and has seen the stage use expanded to include other community events such as the WBM/HS cancer walk and It's A Celebration festivities.  The Town of West Boylston will be competing against a strong field of other communities to make a case for bond bill dollars.  The Parks Facilities Committee is asking residents and community organizations that use Goodale Park to write the Governor's Office and deciding state agencies to support West Boylston's efforts to build a park that school teams, elders, sports leagues, and community park users can all enjoy.
Strong and vocal community support is critical to West Boylston's efforts to secure funding.  The WBAF is encouraging our friends and supporters of Goodale Park to take a few minutes to write letters to as many of the agency contacts as possible.  Please share this message widely with other residents and friends, and encourage them to write letters too.  The Parks Facilities Committee has provided letter templates that may be used (or you may write your own).  We appreciate your support during this busy time of year, and please ask that you join us in advocating for an improved Goodale Park that we can all use and be proud of.
Thank you for your consideration,
Mark E. Baldi, President
West Boylston Arts Foundation, Inc.
